Deacon Leadership Group Training Course

Welcome to DEA-101 Deacon Leadership Group Training Course. I am thrilled to have you on board. Let me introduce myself. I am Dr. Wes Moore, founder of Prophet Scholar Academy.

This course comes out of nearly 30 years of pastoring, leading, working with, and even serving as a deacon. My earnest prayer is that it will make you and your deacon team better at this critical task and make revival more likely in your church.

In this section, I want to give you a thumbnail of what is covered in the course itself, how it is set up, and how to get help if you need it.

COURSE APPROACH

How to use this in a group study

Overview: The course is broken down into eight sessions, each designed for a single group meeting. Like most other group trainings, it is led by someone serving as an instructor (most likely a pastor or lead deacon).

The basic components of each meeting are 1) viewing the lecture videos, 2) discussing the points from the lecture, 3) completing the review exercise, and 4) covering the optional deep dive content.

Using Course Content: Each session contains a video and all the necessary documents for a complete group study, including instructor and student guides.

The video cannot be downloaded; it must be watched from inside the course itself. For directions on watching the video in the meeting, see the instructional document How to Watch the Video with the Group that appears before every session video.

Directions for Each Session: The Instructor Guide in each session provides an overview of the session content, a step-by-step guide for leading the study, group discussion questions, and optional Timed Check Points and Deep Dive Bible Study materials.

Everything you need to lead a smooth and productive meeting is in the Instructor Guide.
